Emerillon was a OpenStreetMap viewer. It is now unmaintained and has been replaced by GNOME Maps.

Features

Current features via the plugin architecture include:

• Browse OpenStreetMaps among others
• Search the map for places using GeoNames
• Placemark locations for quick access later

Installation

As it is under development, no official stable release has been made yet. However, if one is using a Debian-based system, one can obtain the debian packages by adding external repository.

Currently (version 1.90) the code uses Gtk+ so it is not dependent on the complete Gnome environment:
